During today’s United Nations side event Native Council of Nova Scotia’s Chief Lorraine Augustine provided information on the largest Indigenous population in Canada. The Indigenous people who continue to live on their traditional homelands, off Indian Act created reservations.
Chief Augustine expressed her dissatisfaction with the Canadian Government in relation to their continued discrimination of the off reserve Indigenous peoples under the United Nations Declaration of Indigenous People’s. A Declaration adopted by Canada but not followed by Canada.
